Welcome to CHC2P! From time to time this semester we will be checking in here to engage in some online conversations. In order for this to be a success, we must first be agree to follow some ground rules:
1. NO PUTDOWNS This is a place (like our classroom) where every member will feel safe to speak their mind, so long as it doesn't offend others. Please show respect for your fellow classmates, and your teacher. 2. Free thought encouraged. Students will be asked to be open and honest with their responses, to challenge traditional thinking, or to just speak from the heart. Let's 'keep it real'! 3. Limit personal information. Because we live in a world where information is exchanged so freely, it is important to maintain some degree of privacy. Please use only your first name and last initial when blogging. Never give details about where you live, or your contact information. If at any time you don't feel comfortable sharing, please see me to discuss alternative methods of participating. 4. Be prompt. Please follow the timelines assigned. Sometimes you will be required to reply to what other students in the class have posted...it is important to post your comments on time so that everyone can follow up when necessary. Ok...now we are ready to roll! Here is your first assignment: BLOG POST #1 - to be completed by the end of the first week of school Please introduce yourself by creating a Student Passport. Your passport/blog post should contain the following information: 1. An appropriate photo of yourself (portrait style - from the shoulders up) 2. Your first name, last initial 2. 2-3 Things that you're interested in at school (ex. club, team, subject etc.) 3. 2-3 Things you're interested outside of school 4. What you think/hope this course will be all about I'll start... Hello, my name is Mr. H. At school, I enjoy the subjects I teach (history, law), the diverse and interesting students I come across, and all the new features of our brand new building. Outside of school I enjoy time with my family, coaching basketball, and watching sports. I hope this course will show you how important and interesting our nation's story really is!
